Oaks earn a pair of weekly GSAC volleyball honors

Menlo College volleyball players Moea Kekauoha and Monica Hruby each earned weekly honors from the Golden State Athletic League, it was announced Monday.

Kekauoha was named GSAC Defender of the Week honors Hruby earned her second Setter of the Week honors.

Kekauoha put up one of the best overall weeks for the Oaks, recording a double-double against Arizona Christian with 21 digs and 10 kills, while adding seven aces.

Kekauoha finished the week with 34 digs and 11 kills in helping Menlo win twice. This is her first career GSAC honor.

Hruby was a model of consistency for the Oaks this past week. She posted 25 assists in each match, adding a kill, three aces and 17 digs.

The numbers are particularly impressive given she was not on the floor the entire weekend, splitting time in the setter position during the two matches.

The Oaks travel to Pacific Union College on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest.
