Zanolli earns second weekly honor in AEC field hockey


Corinne Zanolli has been named the America East Rookie of the Week for her standout play in a sweep of field hockey conference opponents this past week, the conference announced Tuesday.

The freshman attacker was integral to the Cardinal offense over the weekend, matching a career-best two goals against New Hampshire, including the game-winner in overtime. The rookie finished her weekend with a five-point effort, on two goals and an assist in a 4-1 win over Maine.

On the week, Zanolli compiled 10 points on four goals and two assists as No. 11 Stanford improved its win streak to seven.

The rookie leads the Cardinal in goals with seven as Stanford collects its fourth weekly honor of the year and Zanolli collects her second career honor.

The Cardinal remain on the road this week, taking on Ohio State at noon Saturday at UC Davis.
