Sophomore transfer Alexis Von Schottenstein had a huge week for the Menlo College women’s soccer team, helping the Oaks beat UC Santa Cruz and Soka University of America over the weekend. She was named the Golden State Athletic League Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday for her effort.

Von Schottenstein scored Menlo’s lone goal in Thursday’s 1-0 win over the Banana Slugs, getting an assist from Brittany Squarcia. She followed with her most productive game of the season, scoring a pair of goals Saturday in a 5-2 win over Soka.

In her first season with the Oaks, Von Schottenstein has appeared in six games and has totaled four goals, including a pair of game winners, and a pair of assists for 10 points.

Von Schottenstein, who transferred from Eastern Washington, and the Oaks are off to a stellar start, going 5-1-1 through the non-conference schedule.

This weekend, Menlo will begin GSACplay on the road with a pair of matches against San Diego Christian and #12 Biola.
