Bunton leads Menlo College at Roadrunner golf tournament

 

Douglas Bunton shot a two-round score of 153 to complete the first day of the Roadrunner Invitational in a tie for 10th place and Menlo College resides in fourth place with a team score of 631 in men's golf action Monday.

The tournament, currently led by UC Riverside, concludes Tuesday at the Bakersfield Country Club.

The Highlanders take a team score of 577 into the final round, nine strokes ahead of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

The heat of the afternoon beat down on all competitors as the temperatures rose above 100 degrees.

The Oaks, comprised entirely of freshmen and sophomores, also got a 15th-place finish from Jared Finney and his total of 156.
