East Palo Alto convenience store robbed at gunpoint Christmas Day

A convenience store in East Palo Alto was robbed at gunpoint on Christmas morning, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to the first block of Newell Road at 6:21 a.m. Dec. 25 after an employee called 911 and hung up. A 7 Eleven store is located in that area.

Dispatchers were able to make contact with the employee, who had been robbed. Officers flooded the area in search of the suspect, but no arrests were made, police said.

The case remains under investigation and officers are reviewing surveillance video of the robbery.

More details about the robbery were not immediately available.
