Police: Palo Alto man arrested after photographing woman through window

Incident happened in July

A Palo Alto man who police said used a cellphone to photograph a woman in her bathroom in July was arrested earlier this week, according to a police department press release.

The incident happened on July 21 at about 6:30 p.m. at a home on the 400 block of Grant Avenue. The police department's 24-hour dispatch received a call from a woman in her 50s reporting that three hours earlier she had just taken a shower in her bathroom and had gotten dressed when she noticed a cellphone outside her window pointed at her.

Detectives conducted an investigation that night and were able to identify the suspect as Norbu Norbu, 22, of Palo Alto. After taking a statement from Norbu, police submitted the case to the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office for review. On Sept. 22, the DA's office filed a misdemeanor charge of peeping against Norbu.

On Monday, Oct. 5, at about 12:11 p.m., Norbu turned himself in at the police station. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail pursuant to the warrant.

A similar incident was reported in June on the 300 block on Olive Avenue. Police said there is no connection between the two cases. The incident in June is still under investigation, police said.
