With the 2024 primary election just a week away, on Tuesday, March 5, San Mateo County registered voters have received their vote-by-mail ballots.

These ballots come with a prepaid postage return envelope for easy mailing without extra cost. Voters can either drop off their ballots at any official ballot drop box or vote center in San Mateo County or hand them directly to their mail carrier for convenience (like this reporter did).

The following centers are currently open for voting and include the San Mateo County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, 555 County Center, 1st Floor in Redwood City; Registration & Elections Division Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo; and the Library and Parks and Recreations Center in South San Francisco at 901 Civic Campus Way.

Six additional vote centers opened on Feb. 24 and include the Community Center at 850 Burlingame Avenue; Jefferson Union High School District at 699 Serramonte Boulevard in Daly City; the Emergency Operations Center at 537 Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay; St. Peter Church at 700 Oddstad Boulevard in Pacifica; and the Library Community Room at 610 Elm Street in San Carlos.

Voters who aren’t registered with a political party won’t have U.S. presidential candidates on their ballot. The Democratic, Libertarian and American Independent parties allow no party preference voters to request a ballot for their party, which can be done at any vote center.

The Redwood City Pulse is covering the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors District 4 race, a seat soon to be vacated by outgoing board supervisor Warren Slocum, who has reached the end of his term limit.

For more information on the candidates, the Pulse has provided profiles of each candidate and a story on financial disclosure reports. Four of the five candidates filed their latest round of finance reports for the San Mateo County District 4 Board Supervisor. The period covers contributions and expenses made between Jan. 21 to Feb. 17.
