FREE Home Repair Assistance for Peninsula & SV Home OwnersUploaded: Nov 22, 2015
Rebuilding Together Peninsula and Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley are two non-profit agencies who are "...devoted to providing critical home repairs and accessibility modifications for low income homeowners and community centers at no cost to the recipient." Here are some guidelines for "low income" criteria:
- You have to own your own home (value appears to not be an issue)
- Each program has slightly different income limits. For one adult the gross yearly income limit is between $49,275 and $52,850. For a couple its between $56,325 and 60,400. CHECK WITH THE ORG. WHICH COVERS YOUR LOCATION. I BELIEVE PALO ALTO IS CONSIDERED TO BE WITHIN THE PENINSULA PROGRAM.
This program seems well-suited for seniors who own their own home but since they aren't working any longer their yearly income may well be within the ranges. Priority is given to those with truly lower incomes.
