For those who might be interested, Matt Frazier has initiated local chapters of the No Meat Athlete Running Club which is a fitness/running/social club for plant-based and veg-curious folks, demonstrating that you can be strong, physically fit and quite active without eating meat (OMG, where will they get the protein...find out where.) There's a Palo Alto chapter with a handful of folks so far that just started up. They are meeting every Wed at 6:30am at the Stanford Track by the palm tree at the entrance to the track, for some stretching, a track workout, pushups, burpees etc. Open to all levels. If you are interested or know someone who might be, just show up and/or join the facebook group. They are looking for input as to how to make the group successful. There is a social aspect after the workout that is being worked out too. PLEASE NOTE: No Meat Athlete groups are a free, public fitness movement and workout leaders are not necessarily certified fitness coaches.
