Sriracha Salt

Uploaded: Dec 9, 2022

Ack! You still need gifts. How about a homemade gift this year?

Here’s an easy and delicious recipe from the UC Cooperative Extension Master Food Preserver program – Sriracha Salt. Make ahead, easy storage, and everyone loves the spice on popcorn or sprinkled onto meats and tofu.

Join the mailing list for notices of all online Cooperative Extension programs which can be enjoyed from your own home. Classes are one hour and free, but registration is required. Stay tuned for the new 2023 schedule.

When I was trying to find a poem to read at a memorial service for a friend who had committed suicide, I realized that grief is a taboo subject, despite the fact that it is so difficult to deal with. The majority of the poems that I came across were based on the theme of "don't cry for me" or "I'm still here." "Until we meet again," "A life well lived," etc. are common farewell phrases.

During my speech, I brought up the fact that today is a sad day, and that it is acceptable for all of us to cry, grieve, and feel sad. To me, the platitudes of "until we meet again" feel completely empty and insincere.
