Scavenger Hunt

Uploaded: Apr 30, 2019
Grandma usually visits us around Easter. This year she sadly wasn’t able to make the trip. However, she very kindly sent us a couple of books as an Easter treat.

One of the books, Pinkalicious Eggstraordinary Easter, was about turning the Easter egg/basket hunt into a scavenger hunt. We all loved the idea. Thankfully Pinterest has lots of templates for this activity so I could easily put together 3 different Easter scavenger hunts.

It was a hit! I hope Easter scavenger hunts become a new tradition for our family. The scavenger hunts allowed me to increase the level of difficulty for our son and decrease the level of difficulty for our toddler. In the past I’ve done the kids’ egg hunts in different rooms or used different colored eggs for each kid. Sometimes we’ve done multiple egg hunts. But someone always finds someone else’s basket or someone ends up with more eggs. This year the Easter scavenger hunts were the perfect way to engage each kid and also include grandma in our Easter celebration.

It’s possible that we are just in a sweet spot for scavenger hunts right now, so I’m going to roll with it. I can’t wait until next Easter for our next scavenger hunt. Our kids are excited to help me plan a birthday scavenger hunt, photo scavenger hunt, and a nature scavenger hunt this summer.

Scavenger hunts hold a special place in my heart. When my husband and I first started dating in college we completed a couple of photo scavenger hunts. We never won these scavenger hunts (or even came close), but they were always a great way to have fun, get exercise, take some silly photos, and hang out with friends.
