Juniors: College application planning

Uploaded: Mar 8, 2017
(Written by Lori McCormick)

High school juniors who are planning on applying to four-year colleges are starting to hear the buzz about getting prepared for their applications. In a previous post, John wrote an article that covered this topic. Check out his post here.

College is not always the best option for everyone, and while this blog focuses primarily on the college application process, it would be a disservice to not mention the many amazing Community College Certificate and Career & Technical Education programs. For many students, earning a certificate of completion is time effective and gets them working in their industry of choice. Students can always choose to advance their education while working in their respective fields, but sometimes just need to get to work! Some of the more popular certificate programs (and quite rigorous, I would add) are Automotive, Cosmetology, Plumbing & Heating, Radiation Technician, and Dental Hygiene.

Democracy.
What is it worth to you?

Lori - thank you for saying that college is not the best or only option! I wish our high schools and communities would be more accepting of that idea.
