I'm a huge Caltrain fan and depend on its services, but the noise from the new Caltrain loudspeaker at the University Ave station is constant and unnecessary. I live 1/4 mile from the station, but I can hear "Attention, Train Approaching" announced several times for each commuter train from the wee hours in the morning until well into the evening. What a nuisance! I wonder why Caltrain feels it it really necessary for people to be told the train is approaching? It's pretty big and noisy, hard to miss. If the announcements are absolutely necessary, the speakers need to be redirected more toward the platform and the volume turned down.
