KQED airing Beyond the Call

Original post made by Gloria Schulz, another community, on Jan 19, 2007

Beyond the Call, a wonderful independent film featured last fall at the UN Association Film Festival @ Stanford, will be aired on KQED channel 9 on Tues.Jan. 23 @11pm on Independent Lens. The movie features 3 middle-aged ex-military men who place themselves at risk to deliver medical and humanintarian aid to refugees in war-torn areas of the world. This film includes some spectacular shots of remote parts of Afghanistan, Thailand and the Philippines. Some of the supplies they deliver are unused medical supplies gathered by various individuals in the US that would otherwise be thrown out. Respond to this posting if you are interested in helping this non-profit organization in this way, or if you have questions or comments about the movie.
