Original post made by Janet Neff, Stanford, on Jun 8, 2006

I just wanted to write to get the message out regarding correct use of helmets in this beautiful phase of spring where folks tend to ride their bikes more often.

And parents need to wear helmets at all times while riding both to show their kids that wearing a helmet is the adult thing to do as well as to increase the odds that they'll be alive and in shape to raise them.

Also, I understand that the next big and really inexpensive step in automobile safety would be wearing a helmet in the car. I'm game, but in many cars I'd have trouble wearing a baseball cap because I have a very long trunk. I'd love to read more about this. Anyone got any info/ideas?
