Hidden Villa's poor communication
Schools & Kids, posted by Norma Grench, a resident of the Old Palo Alto neighborhood, on Sep 26, 2006 at 10:01 am

I want to thank the Palo Alto Weekly for attempting to keep the larger Hidden Villa community (and constituency) informed. I would never have known about the far-reaching decision by its board to cancel the Resident Camp program had it not been for the Weekly's May 19 article. Web Link

I appreciated the recent article updating the situation, also. Web Link

I so greatly agree with Ann Smith's observation: "Communication is the biggest issue as far as I am concerned."

In late May I addressed a letter to the board and to Beth Ross, the executive director. Ross called me a day or so after receipt of the letter. I have not had a response from the board.

When I tried to get the contact information concerning the new board president, Lee Price, a couple of months ago from the Hidden Villa office, I was told that the information was not available to the public. They would take my contact information and let Price know of my desire to chat with him. I have never had a phone call or e-mail from him.

My husband and I have been supporters of Hidden Villa for more than 20 years. For the last 15 years we have sent our grandchildren (who lived in Washington and Missouri) to the summer-camp program each summer.

The critical need for funds was never communicated to us or to our two sons and their wives.

Communication?
