Does anyone know what happened this morning at the corner of Embarcadero and Newell roads?

According to the police, there was an accident. More details will be posted on PaloAltoOnline.com shortly.

a woman riding her bike was hit by a guy driving a van. the article says he stopped to help her, but i saw his van pulled over about 200 feet away from her, almost as if he had considered driving off. there were 8 cop cars there on scene!!
