Barron Park rolls out robots for outdoor movie night

Original post made on Jul 21, 2013

Once upon a time, drive-in movies were a big family pastime, and they were part of the collective culture. But those big outdoor screens and community affairs have largely disappeared. Not so in Barron Park, where the big screen will return on Saturday, July 27, for Neighborhood Movie Night under the stars.

just across the street is the stanford theater and University ave is a bit loud and busy for a movie. Not exactly the best venue. That park that between homer and channing that used to home PAMF might be a better place, if you want to make your idea happen.

We want movie night in Menlo Park! It's a wonderful way of community building. The demographic of Menlo has changed in the past 5 years. Many of the octogenarians and novegenerians have gone on that playground in the sky, and there are thousands of young families and children in town!!! Movie time! How about Spirited Away? Or Princess Monaoke?
