Ravenswood hires new superintendent

An administrator from a Sacramento-area school district will become the new superintendent of East Palo Alto's Ravenswood City School District on July 1. Gloria Hernandez, assistant superintendent in the Twin Rivers Unified School district, replaces retiring Ravenswood Superintendent Maria De La Vega.

It would be useful to know why she was chosen. What specific accomplishments does she have to qualify her for this post and what makes them believe she has the verifiable skills to fix a mess?

Thanks to our school board for taking on this task and finding the best candidate for our schools! Good-bye to Superintendent Maria De La Vega. Thank you for your leadership.

Now, why can't PAUSD do the same thing? Our district is in DIRE need of a new superi tendent!

She is one of the worst administrators I have ever encountered! I feel very sorry for your school district. [Portion removed by Palo Alto Online staff.] She has been useless at Twin Rivers and i am sure she will bring her horrible tactics to Ravenswood.
