So very sad to read this. He was a wonderful, generous man and talented artist. I had the pleasure of sitting for him as an artist's model many times. He will be missed very much by his friends and family and indeed those of us who did not know him that well but for whom he always had a smile.

So sad to hear about Lawrence. I had talked with him many times at Peet's, about coffee, dogs, and bikes. Such a kind man. He will be missed around Palo Alto.

Lawrence was a true hero...unlike Lance Armstrong. May Lawrence rest in peace. He will be missed.

I knew Lawrence for many years and worked with him often as a model. I've missed him for several years already as he had to step back from his drawing groups to care for himself. I will continue to miss his presence and influence within the greater drawing community but will always remember him as an individual with one of the most positive outlooks toward life that I have ever known. There will remain a place in my heart for Lawrence forever.

It was with very great sadness that I learned of Lawrence's passing. Lawrence was a rare spirit indeed - a very aware & perceptive man. He faced the many, many difficult challenges he had in life with great courage, humility, humor and nobility. I delighted in our many conversations at Peet's, & around town. My entire family sends deep & sincere condolences to Lawrence's family & loved ones. We will never forget Lawrence.
