Deconstruction is worth attempting if it works out on the financial side. ReBuild Green (my company) offers premium deconstruction services in Northern California.

Having witnessed a few deconstruction projects in my neighborhood in the last five years, I have to say that while it is slower, deconstruction is also less noisy and less messy. No big clouds of dust containing particles of who-knows-what over the neighboring houses. Much less thunderous and seemingly endless noise.
