Palo Alto Knights' Jr. Midgets win NorCal title, qualify for national championships

Original post made on Nov 13, 2012

It was only a few weeks ago that the Palo Alto Knights' Jr. Midgets' football team suffered its first loss of the season. The setback came long-time rival Oak Grove, a stinging 22-8 setback. Afterward, Palo Alto coach Mike Piha promised his team would be better the next time the teams met.

This was a major victory for the organiztion, the team and the community! The coaches, players, volunteers and parents worked very hard this week and our efforts paid off with an outstanding effort resulting in a 24-6 statement to the opposition," You better bring more than your A game against the Knights"!

Great job Knights! They are also having a fundraiser to help get the kids to Florida for the championships. Donations of all amounts accepted and appreciated- Web Link

The Palo Alto Knights are NOT the Nor-Cal Champs! They played the Vacaville Bengals today and lost 32 to 24!!!!!!!!! Why are you saying they are the Champs? You need to get your facts straight and reprint this story! The VACAVILLE JR. MIDGET BENGALS ARE THE NOR-CAL CHAMPIONS!

Actually, the Knights DID NOT win the NorCal Junior Midget Football Championship- the VACAVILLE BENGALS did by beating the Knights in the D1 NorCal Championship game today at Oak Grove High by a score of 32-25.

Yeah you can twist it anyway you want but the fact remains that the Vacaville Bengals are the NorCal champs and HAVE the trophy to prove it. We ran thru Elk Grove and the sacramento raiders to win the D1L division. Palo Alto beat the San Francisco Seahawks and Oak Grove for the D1N division. Then those two teams play each other. And the Bengals whipped them. So have fun in Florida but here in NorCal we are the champs.

I'm not a supporter of either team but why go to Florida when a team here scraped you???? Just sayin.

Someone's ego?

Wow. That's low. Even for you Palo Alto. The Vacaville Bengals beat the Palo Alto knights at Oak Grove High School this past Sunday for the AYF NorCal Division 1 Championship. We have the trophy. And yes, ego does come into play as well as bragging rights. Anyone who is involved in youth sports knows this. The Bengals worked their butts off to win this Championship, and if anyone states otherwise they should be ashamed of themselves!
