Creek Cleanup

Original post made by John Guislin on May 9, 2007

While government agencies and officials pursue long-term plans to mitigate flood risks on the San Francisquito creek, don't just sit idly by. Come and join the first neighborhood sponsored creek cleanup on May 19, during National River Cleanup Week.

A group of citizens from Palo Alto and Menlo Park have received approval to cleanup a section of the creek between the Middlefield and Chaucer bridges. Both cities have granted us access rights and Palo Alto Public Works will haul away the trash we remove.

Meet Saturday May 19 at 9am at the creek access ramp on Woodland Ave. in Menlo Park, about 100 yards downstream from the Middlefield bridge. Wear boots, bring a hat and help preserve wildlife and reduce flood risks in one of the few remaining natural creek channels.
