Everyone loves living in college towns. According to Coldwell-Banker, Palo Alto is the most expensive college town in the US with an average 4 bedroom home costing almost $1.5 million.

The cheapest college town in the US is Akron, Ohio with the average 4 bedroom house costing less than a 10% down payment on a Palo Alto house. There are 36 US college towns with the average 4 bedroom house costing less than $200K (almost all in the midwestern US).
