City Council candidates celebrated Tuesday night at the Garden Court Hotel in downtown Palo Alto. Leaders in the race by night's end included Larry Klein, Gail Price, Karen Holman, Nancy Shepherd and Greg Scharff.

The article doesn't say people are mailing in absentee ballots, the majority still physically bring them in to a polling place and drop them off. I started doing this in response to the large-scale shenanigans of the last decade, so did many of my friends.

I may be getting absentee ballots, but I still want a nearby polling place where I can put my ballot into the box myself. I also want my kids to come with me to see me cast my ballot -- but no way could I concentrate on voting at the polling place.
