Edits Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Walter_E_Wallis, a resident of the Midtown neighborhood, on Jan 28, 2007 at 7:19 am
It would be instructive if, when editing or deleting a comment, that comment would be returned to the author with guidance.
We all decry the personal attack as a response to an opinion, but to allow such an attack to stand but delete or not allow a response seems contrary to the function of a forum.

I agree. I see really awful, vitriolic, anonymous comments stand, and aside from actual obsenities, can't see what else would be worthy of deletion from a non-anonymous person. And, I cannot possibly imagine Mr. Wallis spewing filth.

the so-called editors of this forum have now taken to "locking" threads and not allowing any further comment. their sensitive ears can not stand the fact that free speech is trumping "palo alto politically correct commentary" which does not allow for any criticism of another person.
