Let's see, it's been eight years since the most recent flood. Looks like it will be twenty years and counting and still nothing will be done. The Palo Ato government is more incompetent in dealing with this issue than the Bush administration has been in dealing with New Orleans/Katrina. One would hardly think it possible.

For anyone who has followed the activities of the official creek studies for the past few years, this will not dash your hopes. That's because you would never have had any (or at the very least lost them a while back)since you would have noted that the group is more into providing lifetime careers and income for a number of officials involved. This whole program has proceeded with no sense of urgency whatsoever, and rules that make no sense. and as time goes by, the amount of water runoff into the creek is increasing, not staying the same, as more of Palo Alto and Stanford is developed for housing and commercial use.

I suspect that replacing the bridge with one that did not restrict the channel could be done for less than the money spent trying to get someone else to fix the problem.
