Jimmy Carter Issues Beyond Palo Alto, posted by Jag Singh, a resident of the Duveneck/St. Francis neighborhood, on Jan 10, 2007 at 12:24 pm
Norman Finkelstein, professor of political science at DePaul University in Chicago latest article, titled "The Ludicrous Attacks on Jimmy Carter's Book" (posted on Counterpunch.org) exposes the biased reports and letters critical of Jimmy Carter’s recent book "Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid." Supporters of Israel’s massive land grab in the form of settlements and disdain for international law, are clearly embarrassed and stung by the dreaded word ‘apartheid’ which brings enormous shame and notoriety for Israel’s blatant control and colonization of Palestinian land. No amount of bobbing, weaving and spinning can detract from the basic facts that Palestinians are deprived of basic human rights in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. Their land has been stolen and then systematically colonized by Israeli squatters aided by massive financial and military support from the US. A staggering 205 illegal settlements have been created in the West Bank alone, interconnected by a web of highways to facilitate travel of the Jewish (only) settlers. B’Tselem, the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories supports Carter’s depiction of the Occupied Territories as closely paralleling White South Africa’s apartheid system in its comprehensive publication entitled ‘Land Grab’. This past year, B’Tselem published another report entitled "Forbidden Roads," a summary of roads denied to the indigenous population, the Palestinians.

Thanks for enlightening us with another unbiased, balanced posting. One day you will have to let us know why you hate Jews and Israel so much. I guess for now we will have to make due with your regular postings for our entertainment (surely no one really takes your rantings seriously).
What exactly does Finklestein expose about the letters critical of Jimmy Carter's new book? the fact that we enjoy freedom of speech and can crticize other's writings? Or the fact that some people dare to disagree with jag Singh?
Yes, it is terrible what the Jews are doing in Israel to the Palestinians. It is too bad that the Jews cannot follow the sterling example set by all the Arab nations in their treatment of the Jews living within their borders.
By the way, you forgot to commend Finklestein on his courage.

Speaking of embarrassment, it seems that Jimmy Carter has something to worry about. After his long time associate and past executive director of the Carter Center Kenneth Stein accused him of falsifying facts few weeks back Web Link , now Alan Dershowitz argues that Carter has been rather heavily sponsored by Saudi money: Web Link

Since a conspiracy to commit any crime is a felony, haul off the perps for 5 to 10. The 33rd word, people, the 33rd word. When you impede the progress of another you are agressing against them, so cut it out.
Incidently, the term "Anti War" by itself makes as much sense as anti crime or anti fire. Everyone is anti-war, very likely including Hitler and Stalin. They both were quite willing to take what they wanted peaceably when they could.
