Perhaps if the new police station is built, the building (at that price!) would have gold handcuffs
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Mayfield child, a resident of the Green Acres neighborhood, on Sep 30, 2006 at 2:35 pm

$$$$$$ YIPPES!! $$$$$$$$ Perhaps if the new police station is built, the building would have gold handcuffs built into the walls to detain prisoners as an added touch........??????? (ONLY IN PALO ALTO!!)

Diana Diamond's article about JUST THE PRICE ( 1 MILLION~plus!) of the STUDY of the proposed building by the City of Palo Alto is astronomical.....OUTRAGEOUS!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Right now, when Palo Alto police arrests a suspect, they have to transport them by car all the way to San Jose (yes, they know the way to San Jose..) !! What a waste of the taxpayer money for the overtime there, PLUS all the gas $ (and polution) that could be saved......................City fellows better try tightening up the budget, saving us tax payers here money for projects well deserved such as our libraries....ect...

Yes, rather that transporting prisoners to the COUNTY facility where all prisoners have to be booked in the county of Santa Clara, let's save money for libraries by letting the prisoners go in Palo Alto!

HA! Is that a sloppy comment of the " NOT IN MY BACKYARD" stinkin' attitude?? Hummmm... I thought the people of our fine town have finally outgrown that attitude! You must be from out of town..........Right now, as you are reading this, the people of our town are thinking about building a BIGGER police station..what are we going to fill it with besides a bigger coffee and donut bar?? Yep, you got it...Just has to be done, too many people who need to be slapped on the hands for doing the wrong things.............THAT is how this town is going to keep making money...think of all the white collar crimes..all those parking tickets, etc. that go on in this Valley...(in our very town..$$$!!)

Well, arresting the locals for all the DUI's seems common place around here...we do now also of late have exploited the news in the papers..Palo Alto (still) have a problem with the teen age kids taking up right where their folks are leaving off....("The apple falls not far from the tree" kind of thing...) Parents get tipsy and think they are cute and funny..."sophicated"...(what a misnomer)...and they seem to always flaunt it with their children in full view...Don't they realize what kind of an example they are REALLY setting?? Children have much curiosity and not much control...some parents are in sheer denial...We shall see if our town will be under a new rule very shortly of putting the parents in the pokey for being so permissive or lackadaisical.........

note: The "Mayfield" part of Palo Alto used to be notorious for their bars and free flowing liquor...The law was at one time that drinking had to be located so many miles away from Stanford University.........
