Cutting off comments

When you cut off comments before any have been posted, perhaps the original posting should also be flushed.

Walter,
Thanks for this posting.
I agree and I find it disturbing to see articles, like the insulting one on Rumsfeld posted on Town Square, locked so that no comments can be posted. What does this communicate? It is one thing to screen out inappropriate comments, but quite another to stop all comments. If comments are not allowed then the story should not be on Town Square.
