Loma Prieta earthquake -- 18 years later

Eighteen years after the Loma Prieta earthquake ravaged the Bay Area, geological scientists continue to make significant breakthroughs in earthquake research and forecasting.

The Loma Prieta earthquake did not ravage the Bay Area. However, the next quake may.

And repairs and upgrades are still incomplete.

Well, 7 years later, on August 24th, 2014, the North Bay and the rest of the Bay Area experienced a 6.1 temblor.
