Fantastic. Hats off to the girls, boys, coaches, and the program as a whole. The accomplishments of our fellow Palo Altans never fail to surprise and uplift me.

Good for her, very impressive! It's really too bad that the IOC eliminated all hope that wrestling will continue. It has already been having issues because of regulations regarding spending equally on female and male sports (not meant as a negative toward the rules, I know why they exist). With no chance of competing beyond college, the sport will lose sponsors, colleges and universities will cut programs, and soon after high schools will eliminate their programs as well. Thank you IOC for eliminating one of the original sports, one that teaches discipline and hard work, two things that many entitled, lazy kids today don't learn. I can tell you having been raised in Iowa and participating in many sports, wrestling is hands down the most physically challenging of them all. I remember a long distance, state champion swimmer throwing up of the way through a wrestling practice. He joined us thinking it would be easy and to make a point. He succeeded.

I still have my league championship medallion when our Paly wrestling team won in 1967. God bless you Roger Pigg and my other team mates. Cheers.
