Here's a question or two not answered - If they are foreign nationals committing a crime in the US why were they bailed out and if this is legal, were their passports held so they can't leave the country?

A previous article in the Daily News stated that the three wer shoplifting together at Nordstrom's, and had been recognized by a security guard for shoplifting the day before. The mother and daughter were arrested first, the father got away. But was picked up,after calling police to report the daughter and her mother missing.

Wow, who thought that a highly educated people steal? I been laid off work since 2009, lost every thing, been home less and never crost my mind to steal, got back to college, and slowley got back on my feet.
I believe that every one deserve e second chance, so i don't think they should be deported, I think they should do a community work and explaine why they did that in a TV show?

I am Albanian/American, I was born in Shkodra, so I am very femiliar with most Albanian Names.
Kosta is not Albanian Name,Kosta short for Kostandino, I also know this because my neigbor was Greek we called him baba Kosta, and thery told me that Kosta is very comon Greek name, so for shure they have fake ID's.
Erly 90's lots of Albanian Immigrants where able to get papers, so lots of neighbor countries like Greeks and Yugosllavian did that also for economic reson.
Samething happen on 1997 during the Kosova chrisess, lots of the neighbor countries flee from their countries and claim to be Kosovan's. I say this because I am a freelance translator and I got chance to translate for the Kosovans or claimed to be Kosovans, but some of them did not have the Kosovans dialect "Gege" North, they have "Tosge" Southren dialect.
So that make me believe that this family is not Albanian! They are Greek Minorety who lived in Saranda, Albania which is border with Greece. Is like me saying "I am American, but in realety I am Albanian/American",so that make them "Greek/Albanian".
Kosto You are Greek Stop saying you are Albanian!!!!

Deportation if found guilty. Xenophobia is not an accurate term to describe what 'American' tried to say. All it amounts to is yet another self righteous vehicle for the allegedly 'enlightened' to use as a chance to show how superior they are. If these people are not American citizens, and are found guilty of a felony, they should serve their time and BE DEPORTED. We have enough home grown problems.

The family that steals together stays together? This is obviously not a one-off. I hope Stanford & Harvard get notified. If the daughter gets Financial Aid, is a shoplifting citation or arrest justification for termination of aid?

Friendly reminder: These people are still "innocent until proven guilty." I suppose that it would be best to give them the benefit of the doubt until we are sitting on the jury or listening to the facts as the jury does.
Now, even if these individuals are guilty, it should not surprise us simply because of their ethnicity, nationality, educational or economic background. "Greed" isn't just the sin of supposedly "faceless" corporations or the poor or government dependents. Wynona Ryder can steal at Saks Fifth Avenue as easily as any resident of a government housing project.

My impression is that the most significant crimes in this world are committed by those that are wealthier with more power. True here in the US and all around the world, but the US is the center of the world in many ways, so they all end up here, with all their money and all their power, and they have corrupted our country until now it is seriously doubtful it can even be fixed ... certainly will not be in most of our lifetimes.
This is why I support the strict rule of law, and a real progressive taxation system with an effective maximum wage and a inheritance tax to prevent the buildup of power and an aristocracy/plutocracy like we now have.
It will be the fight of the millennium if we can overturn what has already been brought about by power, force, intimidation and corruption, but continuing to give in to the rich because they have convinced us they are superior heroes is orthogonal to the truth and reality of the world.

Guys just some more info who Mr. Kosta is:
Mr. Kosta ia a politician in Albania and is a senior member of the socialst party there. He holds many degrees and has a lot of unclaimed money as many other Albanian politicians do ( no different here). Mr. Kosta holds many degrees as mentioned above and his lie in Albania about the arrest is this: I was drving my daughter's car and the Police pulled me over ( hahhahahahaha).
He went to county jail of another county and why posted bail so fast :: The answer is that Mr. Costa had diplomatic immunity meaning they can do whatever and nothing will happen to them. He will pay a small fine and then when his vacation to USA which he does every year is over, he will go back where he came from. Don't be surprised when he comes back next year in the same area for vacation. This is above the paygrade of the local PD unfortunately. And another thing, as mentioned above his name is GREEK, and not Albanian. However, not all Albanians are thieves and what nots... there are good ones as well.....

He gets diplomatic immunity, why? What political office does he hold? Why San Mateo County jail? That part is mysterious.
Who cares if his first name is Greek? He's Albanian- & furthermore, that doesn't matter as much as the fact that he misbehaved as a sanctioned visitor here, that hd & his folly were stealing together & of course, that they do not fit the US profile of most petty criminals. They're an embarrassment to themselves, their country & to Stanford- as well as to other thieves. They did a les than amateur job at thievery!
