If their residence in Los Altos was searched, why are they being named as "East Palo Alto" residents? Seems to me if they live in Los Altos then they are Los Altos residents.

The article states that they were arrested in Los Altos, not that they live in Los Altos.

I thought it sad that drugs were involved, since that is probably the reason for the burglaries.

"Stolen property was found in a search of the suspects' residence in the 1900 block of Pulgas Avenue, Los Altos police stated in the release."

I can see how this might be read to imply that Pulgas Avenue is in Los Altos. Not everyone is an English major.

A well-meaning reminder to youknow and others who question reader comprehension: on-line news articles are regularly re-edited from the original as more details become available or errors and clarifications are pointed out by the public. Before criticizing a reader comment, please check the line above the headline, "Updated: Thursday, November 8, 2012, 8:00 AM" in this case. The story may have read much differently earlier.
