Original post made by Higgs, Woodside, on Jul 4, 2012

Very cool. The rest of the world goes on while we holiday. In fact, they go on and discover the glue that holds us together.

Referring to it as the God particle is lazy thinking. The original writer referred to it as the "goddamned particle" expressing his hard frustrating work.
His possibly well meaning, or religious, editor changed it.
Catchy pseudonym but we need a more accurate name. The Higgs boson works for me.

Especially from Sharon!

It's wonderful and great to see a focus on geeks excited about science instead of technology. Hopefully, some of the non-geeks will catch on to the excitement and pay attention to this.

Yes, geeks had a great week; just the video from Cern, alone, was required viewing.

Very cool.

And yes, the puns are just starting....

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
