Gas prices are down nationally.
Why are you predicting ten dollars a gallon?
There is a glut of oil in the US. Highest in 8 years. Drill, baby drill has us actually exporting oil products for the first time in a long time. Record number of drilling rigs, etc. Drill baby drill hasn't lowered prices at all, as was promised.

Oil companies keep gas prices in California high by (1) conveniently shutting down multiple refineries for maintenance all at the same time and (2) exporting oil and gasoline to foreign countries. Yes, it is a conspiracy among multiple oil companies.

> conspiracy of the oil companies ..
Really? You're gonna go with that? Well, it is true that there are some refineries off-line at the moment, but the requirements for boutique blends of gasoline unique to California is something that the Oil companies would rather do without.
“No, the overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil, to build and strengthen our economy,” Chu said. “We think that if you consider all these energy policies, including energy efficiency, we think that we can go a long way to becoming less dependent on oil and our supply, and we’ll help the American economy and the American consumers.”
Following Chu’s remark that reducing gas prices is not the “overall goal” of his agency, Republican candidate Newt Gingrich has asked President Obama to fire Steven Chu.
“Just this week, Obama’s own Energy secretary, Steven Chu, admitted what we all know is true — that the Obama Energy Department really isn’t trying to lower gasoline prices,” Gingrich said during a campaign stop in Georgia.
