Ad Libs: The art of buttercream

We theater people have plenty of superstitions. Just because I'm a Wallace doesn't mean I'm brave enough to speak the name of the Scottish play. But I don't think there's any ban on eating the theater's mascot.

Good thing for Palo Alto's Dragon Productions, which features a purple dragon named Edna in its logo. Turns out Edna makes a pretty cute cake.

Peninsula pastry artist Allison Stamm, a theater friend of mine, recently did up the Dragon mascot in white cake with chocolate buttercream, draped in fondant and painted with coloring. ...
