Info. on Biofuel and Ethanol. "Must-Read" article in San Jose Mercury News,Sunday Perspective Section

Original post made by Dick on Apr 2, 2007

This is a "Must-Read" for those interested in the story of ethanol, biofuels and its production. See the Merc News,Sunday 4-1-07 for a lot of info.. Pages 1 and 6 of section P. Summary of a few issues: It takes about 3gallons of oil to produce 4 gallons of ethanol from corn, 70 million acres of land now used for growing corn would only produce enough ethanol to replace 12% of U.S. gasoline market. "Moreover, the "new" (non-fossil)energy gained would be very small-just 2.4 percent of the market". Also the price of corn, chicken, beef and other corn based products could go up dramatically. Rain forests in South America will be destroyed to grow sugar cane. These are just a few comments on this large article. FIND IT and READ IT!!!!

This is a great article and it tells the truths of ethanol use. This information is disregarded whenever the talk of ethanol arises. It is important people look beyond an issue to find facts like these.

Hey, as the price of tacos goes up, we get our lawns cut cheaper. Everybody wins.

Over and over our media proves that a lie gets around the world before the truth has time to put on its pants.

Thanks for the alert, Dick. I was wondering when the "rest of the story" was going to finally start hitting mainstream.
