For PAUSD Board, a good goal is to overhaul Special Education following all the failures of the past year:

-Get a more senior person to head Special Education and better advise the Board so they don't look bad
-Stop bullying of the disabled
-Eliminate any goals to maximize full inclusion at all costs. Provide the right programs to children instead.
-Eliminate any rewards for removing children from Special Education. Eliminate rewards for refusing placements in special education classes, NPS, or programs kids need. Doing the wrong thing leads to crisis and leads to more costs in the long run. Reward providing the correct service to teach disabled children.
-Eliminate the culture of disrespect for families of the disabled
-Eliminate incentives to keep children in wrong placements until they are violent or fail. Do it right the first time. Fix it promptly if you do it wrong.
-Do not allow District to blame Mental health needs of some children for costs. Just help them.
-Get new law firms who respect families, and who are not using the Board for their political goals.
-Leave the NSBA unless they can provide goals that align with families in your District. Families do not need to pay taxes to support an organization that works against their children.
-Retrain all Special Education staff. Use Educators, do not allow any training by lawyers.

Check out this fancy new bicycle bridge that Copenhagen just built for $5 million. Why is Palo Alto budgeting $15 million for our bridge? Web Link
