This is extraordinary support for children going through severe illnesses. Very impressive that it will be the largest Ronald Mc Donald house in the world.

I hope to see news on the progress, and look forward to making a donation to the expansion.

This is a great thing. It's almost impossible for families to afford hotel rates in the area. Thank you Ronald MacDonald House Charities!

I have a friend who survived lymphoma in the Cambridge area, and she said they participated in a program that hosted families from out of town who needed medical care at Boston Children's Hospital. Do we have anything similar here?

I volunteered at the house years ago and I recall hearing that there may be a Palo Alto family or two who open up a cottage for patients from the hospital, but I doubt that is a large program due to the high rents in the area and turnover in the last 10 years.

Supporting the expansion of Ronald Mc Donald house is a great way for locals to support families who need specialized care at Stanford. Usually rare cases which can't be treated in their area. The article describes the way the house is thoughtful about all the challenges these families have. It's a unique place. When I volunteered, the other volunteers came from as far as Saratoga.

It might be nice for Palo Alto residents to have a special event to support the house.
