Freshmen like Tommy Edman and Cal Quantrill are the reason Stanford baseball coach Mark Marquess likes to schedule some of the nation's top programs during the preseason. The tough schedule is perfect preparation once the Cardinal reaches the postseason.

Every baseball fan in Northern California should root for Coach Marquess to return to Omaha for the College World Series.
