Anyone know if Los Altos Expressway will close today?

Original post made by oldtimer, another community, on May 8, 2014

We need to head south on 280 from Sand Hill, and usually when the Pres comes to town they shut down both sides of 280. Do you think it will be closed from 330 pm when he lands until when he is done with dinner at the Los Altos house?

Reports today say he will fly into Moffett and so I wouldn't think offhand Foothill Expy would be closed...except it is true it depends on location of the Los Altos home of the estranged wife of Sergey Brin - (the wife whose company 23 and Me was funded by Google)- which side of Foothill is her/their home located on?
The Y combinatory event was described as occurring in Mt VIew, then downtown San Jose, and now again as in Mt View, so that is an open question (and not sure on the timing of that event)
The visit to Mt View Wal-Mart -- well, we all know where that store is located. (Although that may be tomorrow AM?)
My best advice is to tune into the news radio during the President's visit and you can have the most up to date info and alter your driving route if necessary. That is what we have had to do in Palo Alto.
Past experience showed 101 shut down a lot when Obama visits for fundraising.

Don't miss out on the discussion!

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
