First, a bouquet of thanks to Karen Froniewski for once again organizing this community-wide effort to help our veterans!

There are nearly 50 men and women currently taking part in the Homeless Veterans Rehabilitation Program at the VA facility on Willow Road in Menlo Park. This is where we will be delivering holiday flowers and cookies tomorrow afternoon, (Tuesday, Dec. 11. 2013). As Karen explained, we are meeting at her florist shop, Nature's Alley, in the Midtown Shopping Center at 3:15pm, and we will all head over together to make the deliveries.

Volunteers, of all ages, are warmly welcome to join us.

If you can't make the deliveries, but would still like to help, please drop off some home-made or store-bought cookies anytime before 3pm tomorrow.

And here's one other way to help: toss in a donation, of any amount that is truly easy for you! There's a donation collection jar on Karen's front counter. Prior to opening Nature's Alley, Karen worked for more than a decade as a registered nurse, and her caring spirit is what makes this project possible. Every year, she donates the flowers, vases, greenery, as well as candy for this annual event. If you can spare some change to help cover costs, your generosity would be truly appreciated.

But the best present would be if you could be present tomorrow to help hand out the holiday treats! Thanks, Karen, and thanks to all the folks who helped on Sunday... and most of all, thank you and happy holidays to all our veterans.

If you have any questions, just give Karen at call at Nature's Alley, (650) 326-3632.

Well, it's a good thing I am not in charge of Santa's gift list... because I would inevitably get the dates wrong!! My previous posting says we are delivering to the homeless vets program on Tuesday, Dec. 11... but the correct day/date is Wednesday, Dec. 11... meeting at Nature's Alley in Midtown at 3:15pm.
Sorry for my goof... and I hope you can make it! I hope I make it!!
