Four teams wrap up league titles in water polo

Original post made on Oct 31, 2013

Winning league water polo titles has seemingly been routine for the Menlo School and Sacred Heart Prep boys plus the Menlo-Atherton girls, all of whom did just that on Wednesday. For the Gunn boys, titles have not come so easily.

Gunn hasn't won the league titles, yet. They have to play the league tournament first.

Correct. The SCVAL uses a point system and teams are awarded points for their finish in the round-robin and then are awarded another set of points for their finish in their league tournament (to be played next week). For example, Paly could win the league if Paly wins the tournament and Gunn finishes third. Not saying that will happen, but just trying to provide a feasible scenario.
