Utah springs a surprise on No. 5 Stanford, 27-21

Original post made on Oct 12, 2013

The fifth-ranked Stanford football team ran into an inspired bunch Saturday in Salt Lake City. The Utes put everything together to knock off the Cardinal, 27-21, in a Pac-12 Conference game. It was Stanford's first loss in almost a year, ending a 13-game winning streak that ranked No. 2 in the nation for FBS teams.

Utes dominated that game today. Cardinal was flat out outplayed. If there was a weak spot Utah found and exploited it. Hard to find any flaws in the way Utah punished the Cardinal today.

Utah can play with the top teams. However most top teams will ultimately prevail. Stanford is lacking any top playmakers to do that. They'll still probable finish in the top 25-30 at season's end.
