==B Friday's prep football==

Andrew Segre was the star performer on Friday night for Sacred Heart Prep (5-0), as the senior running back ran for two touchdowns and caught two touchdown passes, in the Gators' 42-2 nonleague rout over Woodside (0-4). Check the Daily News story on Palo Alto-Fremont and you will see the original stat numbers. There was no PA Weekly writer at the game, but somehow they have the same stats the Daily News has.

How do you know that? Do you know all the writers? All the possible freelancers that might be there? All the parents who might be contributing? Did the Daily News have totals in the stats? No.....style is different....did you notice that John Reid had a byline from the Paly game and the SHP-Woodside game? How is that possible, where he can be two places at the same time? There are SO many ways to get information on games these days.....

For the grassy knoll crowd...

The teams typically compile their own statistics (usually the home team does this) and then each team will post on MaxPrep. From there they can automatically send stats (and any game summary they may want to write) to all of the local newspapers.

Did the Daily News have anything on the Gunn game? No.....more than the score on the Menlo game? No.......what's going on Mr. Francis? The only game that NO ONE had a score on was Priory.......the important thing is that the players are getting their names mentioned and their efforts acknowledged.
