A street alight with Christmas spirit

Original post made on Dec 24, 2007

For many Palo Altans, the spirit of the season extends into their neighborhoods. A neighborhood tradition that goes extra deep is the annual Christmas Tree Lane on Fulton Street. It is celebrating its 67th year of attracting people from around the Peninsula to its Embarcadero Oaks neighborhood. Photos by Norbert von der Groeben/Palo Alto Online.

What was with the "flood" signs closing the street on Saturday? Was there really a flood (what a shame) or was there another reason for closing half the street?

I am concerned about the woman who is pictured walking her dog
down the street- has anybody else noticed that her dog is not on a leash-
at least its hard to tell- and maybe we should keep a close eye on this
walker and her free spirited canine companion before some innocent little
child gets hurt! god bless!

I was there on Saturday night, and it was indeed flooded! There had been a water main break and the end farthest from Middlefield was several inches deep in water.
