That PAUSD teachers are viewing turn-it-in.com as a tool to help students is commendable. So often teachers in venues other than the PAUSD have viewed on-line tools as a means to 'catch' and 'punish' students rather than as tools to educate students about the seriousness of doing their own critical thinking in their writing. Also, as a person with great empathy for the paper load that teachers must bear, I trust that PAUSD teachers will continue to grade papers with an eye on the objective -- to honor students' efforts and to help students to order their thoughts in a clear manner. In the interview, Ms. Tokheim gives strong evidence that PAUSD English teachers care about their students' thinking processes above all other considerations. Aren't we lucky to have such teachers!

That is just ridiculous that a deadline is at midnight! What moron does such a thing? Why can't kids turn in the papers at school, on or before their realistic due date?
