New real estate column debuts

A new column focusing on local real estate issues and trends begins this week. "Real Estate Matters" will be written on a rotating basis by four local real estate professionals selected by the Weekly from among those who applied: Wendy McPherson, manager of more than 145 agents for Coldwell Banker and 38-year resident of Menlo Park; Michael Dreyfus, broker and founder of Dreyfus Properties, a Palo Alto resident and an attorney; Nancy MacLeod, founder of an independent brokerage called Homes2Buy.com and a native Palo Altan; and Michael Repka, a real estate and tax attorney who is managing broker for DeLeon Realty in Palo Alto.

The four columnists were selected from those real estate agents and brokers who applied for the opportunity by submitting sample columns, ideas for topics and a description of their areas of expertise.

"With real estate being so important to most local residents and such a large part of our local economy, we are pleased to share the opinions and analysis of these industry leaders," said Weekly real estate editor Carol Blitzer.
