Jill and Boyd Smith

The glue that makes a community work

by Carol Blitzer

On a typical morning in Old Palo Alto, neighbors can spot Jill and Boyd Smith taking their daily walk — if they are up early enough. Outside by 5:30 or 6 a.m., the Smiths usually spend about an hour talking about the most pressing issues in their lives, whether it's family, church, business, politics or volunteer work.

I am blessed to know these two beautiful people. I can attest to the fact that they have gone over and beyond the call of duty to help people in the community. It is such a treat to see them honored in this fashion as it isn't too often where people will give so generously and not expect anything in return. May God continue to bless and protect their hearts. They are good people.

One Love,
Ebonni Stuart
